Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Welcome to The Coastal Cocoon Chiropractic. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of our website (thecoastalcocoon.com) and to the bookings, consultations and services we provide. The Coastal Cocoon Chiropractic is operated by Rebecca Sandell (ABN 15 100 338 890) (“we”, “us”, “our”), a registered chiropractor practising in New South Wales, Australia. By using our website or booking with us, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our services and this website

We provide chiropractic care, including assessment, advice and treatment, to adults, children and babies. The information on this website is general in nature and is provided to help you learn about our clinic. It is not a substitute for professional advice, an assessment or a diagnosis, and it does not create a chiropractor–patient relationship. That relationship begins only when we have assessed you and you have agreed to care.

2. Bookings

You can book an appointment through our website, online booking system or by contacting us. When you book, please provide accurate and complete information. For a child or baby, the person booking must be a parent or legal guardian, and we may ask them to attend the consultation. After booking, we may send you online forms to complete before your first appointment, including a health history form. Completing these forms before your visit helps us provide safe and effective care.

3. Consent and your care

Before we begin care, we will talk with you about your condition, the proposed care, its benefits, risks and alternatives, and the expected costs, so you can make an informed decision. We will ask for your consent (or your parent or guardian’s consent for a child), and you are free to ask questions, change your mind or withdraw consent at any time. Chiropractic care is not suitable for everyone, and we may refer you to another health practitioner or recommend medical advice if we believe it is in your best interests.

4. Fees and payment

Our fees will be explained to you before care begins, and current fees are available on request or when you book. Prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). GST is not charged on chiropractic consultations, which are GST-free health services. Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless we agree otherwise. Online payments are processed securely by Stripe, and we do not store your card details. We can provide a receipt that you may use to claim from your private health fund, subject to your fund’s rules.

5. Changing or cancelling an appointment

If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please let us know as early as you can so that we can offer the time to someone else. An online deposit is paid when you book. If you cancel within 12 hours of your appointment time, the online deposit is not refundable and is retained as a cancellation fee. Cancellations made with more than 12 hours’ notice do not incur a cancellation fee. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Your health, your responsibilities

To help us provide safe care, please give us complete and accurate information about your health, medications and any changes, and tell us if anything feels uncomfortable during or after care. In an emergency, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. Please do not use our website, email or messages for urgent medical concerns.

7. Your consumer rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. This includes that our services will be provided with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose you told us about, and be provided within a reasonable time. If we fail to meet a guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy, such as having the service provided again or a refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

8. Results are individual

Every person is different, and we cannot promise a particular result. Our care is based on your individual needs, and outcomes can vary. In line with the national law that regulates health practitioners, we do not use patient testimonials to advertise our services.

9. Intellectual property and copyright

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, branding, forms, design and layout, is owned by or licensed to Rebecca Sandell and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws, including the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). © 2026 Rebecca Sandell. You may view and print pages for your personal use, but you must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

10. Using this website

You agree to use our website lawfully. You must not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, or introduce harmful code. We work to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Our website may link to third-party websites, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

11. Privacy

We handle your personal and health information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and any other law that cannot be excluded, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website. Information on this website is provided in good faith for general information only, and you should not rely on it in place of professional advice. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Complaints

We welcome feedback. If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us at [email protected] and we will respond promptly and try to resolve it. You also have the right to contact the Health Care Complaints Commission (NSW) at www.hccc.nsw.gov.au or 1800 043 159, or to make a notification to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at www.ahpra.gov.au.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms apply from the date they are posted on this website, as shown by the “last updated” date at the top of this page.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we each submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and any courts that can hear appeals from them.
